And I know Fr. Curtis is there, and I know he avoids me. . . . so sneaking in was really my intention as I know you might have Witnessed a bit more than I know with the Welcome we shared which he might benefit from . . .

I would encourage you to seek out counsel from one of the priests in the immediate area. Dear Friend of the Missions,  Father’s Day is normally full of emotions for all of us. For most, it is a joyful day filled with gratitude for the fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, priests, and mentors who helped shape their lives. For many, it is also marked by loss, distance, unanswered questions, or perhaps difficult memories. As we approach Father’s Day on June 21, I want you to know that the Church is praying with you and for you.   At Sunday Mass this Father’s Day, Jesus will say to us in the Gospel not to be afraid, but to trust in the loving providence of our Heavenly Father, who knows each of His children and never forgets them. Human fatherhood, biological and spiritual, at its best, participates in God’s fatherly faithful and sacrificial love for us (Eph 3:15). One of the greatest gifts we can offer those we love is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Whether your father is still living or has been called home to the Lord, having a Mass celebrated for your father is one of the greatest gifts you can give him. The same goes for someone who has been a spiritual father in your life.   If you would like to have a missionary priest celebrate Mass for anyone who has been a father to you, I would be honored to arrange it. Most priests serving in the missions receive no salary and survive by Mass offerings. In the midst of hardship, poverty, and at times even persecution, as they serve those the Lord has entrusted to them, they are so grateful for Masses sent from abroad thanks to the Pontifical Mission Societies. This service of helping to provide Mass stipends to priests in the Missions was very dear to Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, who served as the National Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies from 1950-1966. As we look forward to his beatification Sept. 24 in St. Louis, we remember his great love for the Eucharistic Jesus and for the way he taught us all how Jesus in the Mass unites all of us throughout the world in prayer to God the Father. As Father’s Day approaches, I invite you to submit your intentions and join us in praying for all our dads — those who are still providing for, guiding and protecting their families, those who are suffering, those who have gone before us whom we entrust to God’s mercy, and anyone who has served as an instrument of life and growth on behalf of God the Father.
