phpbb as alternative to Blackboard Suite

I'd like to network with other phpbb deployers who use their boards for educational purposes.

I developed my current boards as an alternative to Blackboard Academic Suite 8 for colleagues and students. Our college division is in the progress of achieving total compliance with college policies for Blackboard. However, many of my division colleagues lack the pc/internet fluency required for setting up and managing a well-run Bb instructor's account. Also, Bb tends to keep instructors/classes as islands unto themselves, doesn't facilitate collaboration without going through IT channels, AFAIK.

I recently installed/configured/borrowed styles for/borrowed mods for a couple boards that would facilitate collaboration, i.e. tear down so many academic walls that divide us
